Canon Abilities: Here, but I added a little for clarity and a lot of those are more game mechanics.
★ Elemental wielding: Aether can wield and use multiple elements when most people in Teyvat can only use one. From his canon point, he can wield anemo, geo, electro, and dendro. Lore wise, he can switch between them freely.
★ Extended lifespan: While we aren't sure or not if Aether is immortal, increasing evidence in the game is pointing to his lifespan cannot being the same as an average human. His twin sibling is shown not to age at all after 500+ years have passed and he does not comment about her appearance. It's also revealed more recently he could live for thousands of years. Zhongli makes a comment that sharing memories/stories/moments with Aether is possibly more long lived and far reaching than stone carvings and books.
Role: Legend
Role Qualities/Attributes: A set of wings.
Role Reasoning: Aether is known far and wide as a hero in Teyvat in his current canon point. He's helped several nations with major internal crises and put his own life in danger in the meanwhile. While his goal started with finding his sister, he's come to help many along the way. From the smallest task of gathering mushrooms to getting involved in a full-fledged resistance army, Aether has shown to take helping others seriously. He is shown to protect his friends and those who need it, from friends to random strangers, and he's willing to fight to keep others safe. He's come to care deeply for his friends, especially his traveling companion Paimon. His good nature and understanding personality have led many of the characters in the series to comment on how easy it is to talk to him and trust him. Those who have been helped by Aether, through combat or friendship, have a positive impression of him.

What was the most traumatic experience your character endured? How did this change them?

Aether's most traumatic experience was coming to Teyvat and being separated from his sister. This was traumatic for him because it changed his entire life. From what we know about Aether, he's spent almost all his life traveling worlds and being beside his sister. She's always been there for him and vice versa - you can even see this in their fighting style as they cover each other's blind spots. When the two of them came to Teyvat, they were unable to leave and were separated for 500+ years. Aether woke up much later than his sister did, in a relatively unknown place and not speaking the local language. He had to learn the language, learn to make allies and friends, and reach out to others in a way he probably never did since he had his sister to rely on. He's had to ingrain himself in a world and make bonds where before he was merely a visitor, a traveler.

After reuniting briefly with his sister a few times, he also has to live with a major change of not understanding her like he used to. They used to understand and complete each other's thoughts, but now? Aether is trying to comprehend why she is the Abyss Order. He has nightmares now about losing his sister forever or her not needing him anymore.

Is your character capable of forgiveness or will they hold a grudge until they die? Would anything ever make them change their mind?

Aether has had personal interactions with several "enemies" in the game.

In the Chasm, Aether ends up helping some stranded Fatui. With the Chasm, he agrees to eventually help them out despite his hesitancy. He knows without his help, this group of Fatui, they would run out of resources and starve and die. Aether can extend some kindness in the face of such suffering. He even fights alongside them when another group of Fatui attacks the "traitor" Fatui.

With Childe, a high-ranking Fatui member, Aether can show a lack of trust but does help him when his brother visits. He also can accept to an extent that Childe is merely a pawn of the Fatui and has his own ambitions outside of the Fatui's. It's also possible for Aether to befriend him to the point of having the option to agree to visit Snezhnaya with Childe.

Aether is also willing to see redemption in his sister despite her ordeals with the Abyssal Order, still wanting to understand and be reunited with her. He still dreams of being reunited with her and has a nightmare of never being able to reach her. He also does forgive Ei for her role in the suffering of Inazuma's people as he learns about her background and sees her commitment to change and be more proactive in Inazuma.

It seems what changes his mind is seeing them as individuals outside of their roles and seeing how much they care for their family members. Aether has been shown to hold grudges, as with the case of getting revenge on his dead friend, Teppei. Also with his fight with Signora, she took Venti's gnosis despite trying to stop her. It comes down to who is redeemable and the actions this person takes.

What are your characters dreams and nightmares? Do you believe they are more likely to obtain one rather than the other?

Aether's dream is to be reunited with his sister and continue their travels to other worlds. Before he was reunited with her, he went to several nations to look for her, get assistance to find her, and speak with those who might know about her. Since he found her in the series, that dream has slightly changed. He found his sister, but she did not come back with him. She told Aether that he must complete his journey in Teyvat, and then he'll understand. So now he is traveling to Teyvat, following in the footsteps she once journeyed in. He hopes that he can understand her and convince her to leave the Abyssal Order.

His nightmare about his sister involves them being separated forever, her no longer needing him, and them going their separate ways. It is more than just in the physical sense, but emotionally losing to her due to her ties to the Abyssal Order. He fears she may reach the point of no return in harming others and becoming unredeemable. He has seen his sister hurt others while attempting to reverse the curse placed on Khaenri'ah's people and bring the fallen kingdom back.

There is a good chance his dream will happen, as Aether is very determined and hasn't given up on his sister and trying to understand what she has been through. Yet it is likely that dream will come with sacrifice or something even greater. There is also the chance he may become a traveler of worlds again, without or with his sister. There is even the chance of staying in Teyvat with and without his sister, but it is more likely he will travel among the stars once again.

What is your character's moral code? Do they have one? Why or why not?

Aether's moral code is guided by people being kind and understanding to each other and not abusing their power and position. He values those who are heroes who have sacrificed, such as Xiao. He values those who help others out of their personal beliefs rather than money or integrity, such as Yanfei and her legal services. He sees the value in those who bring happiness and joy to their friends and family, such as Xiangling with her cooking. He values hard work and dedication and a willingness to question the status quo with someone like Keqing. He especially values family, and despite past interactions with Childe, he respects Childe's devotion and sacrifices for his family.

He respects the Archons he's met, even with bumps along the way. Once he's able to see their commitment and dedication to their people, even if it sometimes goes astray, he can admire their wanting to protect and help their nations. It did anger him when Inazuma's Archon became so absent that it led to people in Inazuma being hurt and killed, but he came to understand Ei and also see the changes she's made and willingness to question her own long-held beliefs.

Aether is willing to help others, big or small. He believes in protecting and helping those who need it. Sometimes he can be frustrated with others/the situation, and not help right away, but he's able to come to realize that ignoring a problem or letting someone else take care of it when he's capable is not the right thing to do.

What does your character feel like they struggle with still? Where could they improve? This could be physically, mentally, emotionally, or otherwise.

Aether still struggles with his emotions and keeping his cool at times. While in Inazuma, he grew extremely frustrated and impatient, not being able to speak to the Archon and feeling like he had to be the one to deal with the chaos in Inazuma. Eventually, he did calm down and realize he had to help them, knowing it'd be wrong to ignore their plight and suffering. Another instance of Inazuma is when his friend Tippei died, he got so enraged and endangered his own life. His recklessness ended up causing Yae to trade a gnosis to the Fatui for his own life. His reckless behavior when emotional does not always work out for him and has worked against him. In Sumeru, there is an option for Aether to take his anger out on some mercenaries and beats them up severely. This goes against what he logically strives to be, not abusing his power and strength. Even if it was for "good" and protecting his allies, he took it too far just for personal satisfaction. It shows he can give into the darker side of his emotions when he becomes increasingly frustrated or negative.

He could improve on dealing with his anger and frustration. He could improve on not letting his personal feelings and judgment cloud decisions when it comes to those who he distrusts when it involves the greater good. He is getting better at it, as he's even helped and worked with some of the Fatui despite his personal grudge against the group.
